(AS SUNG BY CANDY CHRISTMAS,KIM HOPPER,AND LISA DAGGS,(in that order) with the GAITHER HOMECOMING FRIENDS!)
CANDY: Charlie was a man about 69, he went to our church back in the Georgia pine-
He lost his wife and his kids were gone-But every Sunday night,
after the special song- preacher'd ask the people to testify-
and Charlie'd stand up with a gleam in his eye-
he never was a man of very many words-most of the time all that we heard was-
Oh My, glory, glory, glory- that was "all I can say," that was his story!
Oh,my! Glory,glory glory- Glory,glory,glory, oh my!
Well he looked kinda funny with that big ole' grin-
an I said, hey, hey mama what's the matter with him? She pulled me up close,
and she took my hand, and she said, some day baby you will understand!
Sunday after Sunday, during prayer meeting night, Charlie'd stand up
when the feeling was right-he'd raise up his hand, and he'd start to cry-
then he'd open up and testify!
And he'd say "Oh my, glory, glory, glory! That is all I can say!" That was his story-
Oh,My,glory,glory,glory! Oh my!
Many years later I went back to see,
if that little country church was how it used to be-
Mama and Daddy and Charlie were gone, but when the preacher got up,
after the special song- something very strange began to happen to me-
I was shakin all over- I was weak in the knees- I stood there cryin'-
and I tried to explain,But Charlie's words were all I could say!
I said, Oh, My, Glory, glory, glory, that was all I could say, that was my story!
Oh!-My!-Glory,glory,glory!-Glory,glory,glory,Oh, My!

Oh, My, Glory, glory, glory, that was all I could say, that was my story!
Oh!-My!-Glory,glory,glory!-Glory,glory,glory,Oh, My!
And all over that huge packed auditorium, folks were clapping their hands in time to the music and singing along, and I do not hesitate to say that the glory of which they sang filled that place, and most everyone in it, as they began to weep for joy, and raise their hands, and continue to sing that last phrase, over and over again!
GLORY!
