GREY DAY BLESSINGS, CHEERFUL EARFULS, AND READY, AIM, COOKIE!!
1.With a preponderance of messy traffic circumstances now prevailing in our area, the Good Lord brought upon Yon son a mysterious ailment. Worrisome, but not serious, we believe, with sweating, tingling arms, lips, feet and fingers, lightheadedness, and odd assorted pains here and there. Sufficent to keep him off the streets, and able to rest one more night, before going back to work. After a good meal, some time to sit and relax, and a nice nap, he was already feeling better.
2.In part, the illness was brought on by worry. In the last three days, we have not been able to reach either his darling wife, who was 18-wheeling through the mountains ; nor Sherry, who has developed some new symptoms. Multiple calls were made, with no returns! However, today we were finally able to reach them both, and when we have stressed out over situations, we're fine while the "emergency" is going on, and then fall apart when the pressure is off! What a joy to be able to touch bases with our loved ones again! p.s. They are both fine! Cell phones, and ancient land line base phones were to blame for the lack of communication...
3.With an eventual goal of being able to do cookie plates as Christmas gifts this year, last night we started with baking homemade Toll House cookies, from scratch, of course, and spent the entire evening watching movies, and working on the cookies.Even with worries on the back of our minds, we still had such fun working together. As always, Yon reaches and gets things out for me, I measure and mix, sift and combine, and he puts the cookie sheets into and pulls them out of the oven. Somehow, one cookie always goes missing from the cookie sheet before the batch makes it to the cooling plate! I wonder how that happens? They turned out just heavenly, and we satisfied our craving for chocolate chip cookies, and have plenty left to freeze until Christmas eve eve, when we shall be assembling the plates. Only ten batches of cookies, and three batches of candy to go!
