INSTANT REFRESHMENT, INTERNAL CLOCK, AND DIVINELY THOUGHTFUL!
1.It was a cold, blustery day outside today, but as I sat at the kitchen table having a reaction, I was just overwhelmed with how hot I felt; and wished that Yon hadn't just left because he almost always is there to help me when I need air.But now to open the door, I would have to struggle my way around the table in my wheelchair, and this is a true obstacle course! Then I wished Yon hadn't locked the door, as he usually does when he leaves, for otherwise, with the wind so brisk, any minute the door would swing wide open by itself. As I unlocked the brake on my chair I took a shaky, shuddering breath,to steel myself against the abnormally harsh pain in my back, and set my teeth to force "Tuffy" around the table against chairs, wadding up scatter rugs and the fan stand...when all of a sudden, the door flew open, and I was bathed in a deliciously cool refreshing wind, and instantly revived! Then, and only then, did I remember I had a candy bar to bring me out of my reaction hidden in the fruit bowl on the table!
2.I overslept today. Ordinarily this would be no big deal, but with the severe back spasms I have been having over the weather change, it became a big deal when I realized I was about two hours late for my pain pill. Thank God my internal clock didn't let me sleep any longer, or I would have had to call for help just to get out of bed!
3.What a beautiful day! I got my paycheck right on time, and as I sat watching the leaves scuttling across the lawn, and twirling in the wind, I called my landlord to ask that he stop by in the morning to cash my check. That way I don't have to worry about going out, and the rent is automatically paid immediately! Without hesitation, that blessed man cheerfully said, "What time is good for you?" What a prince of a fellow! I'm up at Six. Breakfast is at Seven. He'll be here at Eight, and probably stay to have coffee and a chat! Life is good!
