I have been wanting to see this movie since the first time I heard about it,and saw a trailer on it; but I had no idea it was so enthralling! It has been given some fairly high praise, all of it deservedly so, but nothing I saw or heard prepared me for this movie. Starring Colin Farrell, Forest Whittaker, and Katie Holmes and a stellar cast of unknowns ( at least to me)...this is a brilliantly written, and believably well portrayed seamless piece of work, with no unnecessary by-play, no fluff, no frills and no down time, when it is safe to leave it to visit the bathroom or hunt for a snack. However, if it wasn't for the fact that the riveting emotional climate of this film carries you past it, I would have to fault it for language.
Put out in '93 by 20th Century Fox, It carries an "R" rating, and definitely NOT for children,so if you have little ones in the house, call your sister to take them for the night, line up the popcorn in advance, and be ready to watch it at least twice...or have the remote ready to run it back a few times to catch what he said that time, because, trust me, this is one of those movies ripped from the headlines, and there are no fools involved!
