Well, I guess it had to happen sooner or later. But was I surprised when I got a nasty note from ebay! Now, I am not a member of ebay. I have never bought or sold anything on ebay, so they picked the wrong one to fool with! I didn't quite know what to do about it, but I got educated very quickly. After some research, I went to a live chat with a help rep. whose name was James, and he was very nice. After I filled him in on my problem,he encouraged me to send both emails to spoof, which I did, and almost instantly I got a response, assuring me that I had done the right thing, and that the nasty notes were NOT from ebay. Furthermore, they shall be investigating the origin of those emails, and told me exactly what to do, should I receive any more strange mail.
One thing I noticed about those phoney emails after spoof responded was, they encouraged me to scan this into my computer, or save it in my files. God only knows what havok this thing could have raised had I done such a stupid thing! This supposed ebay member accused me of tricking them, and then told me they were not as stupid as I thought they were...Well,same to you fella, and the horse you rode in on!!
