I found this phrase, amongst my referrers today, and honest to God, the first thing I thought was, what if this person is not intended to live until the fall? Scary thought, isn't it? They plan to get serious with God, but later on, they are just too busy right now! Well, alright, but what if right now, is all they've got to get serious with God? What then? Are they going to go before the throne and plead, I was going to do it, but I was too busy? If you were God, would you accept that in place of following his plan of salvation? Especially since he has made it so easy to come into his presence and come boldly before the throne, asking what you will, in faith believing, and it is done? I don't think so.As you probably already know, God calls to us all, in his own way, and the less time we have to make that choice, the stronger the call.It may come in a variety of ways, such as constantly running into mentions of God, no matter what we are currently doing, or an illness or injury, either to ourselves, or to someone else close to us, that makes us start thinking about our own mortality, but whatever form it takes, the call needs to be responded to.Now, if this young person has been under conviction, and shoved the thought or urge away, putting it off until later....(in the fall) then, in scripture we are told that even that could be considered a decision. No action, is still considered action...that of rejection.Regardless of how you couch the procrastination,if it is never gotten around to, and your life is lost before the promised action, of accepting that call takes place, it is still rejection. Besides that, don't forget how to make God laugh. Make Plans! Personally, I think that this sort of planning is self-deceiving, and just stops short of self-aggrandizing. It is tantamount to making the statement that you order you life, and can choose the time to settle things with God, for "booking" your eternal resting place. As though you know how much time you have left on this earth. What a laugh.Only God knows how long each of us have on this earth. Not you, not your doctor, not even your pastor possess that knowledge, and for a human being to have the effrontery to act as though they do, is an insult to God. Thank God, he is a loving God,and will forgive us our silly notions, if only we ask for it, and don't put things off until it is too late.
