I have. I think most of us who have had any length of time on this earth, who were not sheltered from the blows of change have experienced this. You don't expect it, so there is no safeguard against it,however there are certain things you can do to overcome the effects of sudden non-interest in that which you ordinarily love to do.Take, blogging, for instance.Usually, my mind is popping with ideas that I have to rush to take down notes for, so that I don't forget any of them. But then, you get a phone call that upsets your apple-cart,and there is nothing else on your mind for a while, and once you have blogged on that thing, the ideas stop flowing, because your still stuck thinking about that situation,or that person. My niece is such a sweetie, and I am totally distracted by this impending doom hanging over my head about her, so it is only logical that I would be going through some mental stuttering. I wrote to her,and I am concerned that she won't get my letter before she sets up this surgery that I mentioned she's supposed to have. Yet, every time she comes to mind, I stop and pray for her. Now, lest you dismiss this tactic, let me say here and now that this is not just an impotent warbling of worries to God, incapable of effecting any change in the situation. I have seen over and over how powerful prayer can be, when you follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit, when he lays the burden upon you, that is the time to seek the Lord on the matter, praying that Abba Father intervene in this situation, and move, as only God can move...but only when you ask for the right thing. When you pray incorrectly, asking for things that God would not sanction, naturally, that is not going to be honored by God. But when you pray righteously, asking for healing, or to impart wisdom to someone, or direction for them, or guidance,or solace for things that cannot be changed, then you will get an answer, depending on where you have put your faith.See, the song really is true, that prayer is the key to heaven, but faith unlocks the door -words are so easily spoken, but prayer without faith, is like a boat without an oar! Have faith when you speak to the Master, that's all he asks you for- prayer is the key to heaven, oh but faith unlocks the door!(ahem) sorry. Lost my head.Maybe you don't know it, but I just sang at you! I couldn't help it.But now, since I've come this far in my theme over prayer, do you know what keeps God from answering prayer, even if the prayer is correct, and righteous? Unforgiveness.Having something against your brother or sister in Christ, will block your requests from being heard in heaven as surely as your name being what it is.Why? Because Christ paid such a high price to make sure your sins could be forgiven, and you have received that atonement, by what right do you with-hold forgiveness to anyone else? Now, you may think that I have digressed from the point, but I have not. Because, the one thing that will put the bounce back in your step, and the joy bells back in your heart, is to pray, and if there is any unforgiveness there, get rid of it, and like magic, answers and blessings will start to flow in, or you will receive word from the Lord that which you should be praying for !
And then, the wind will fill your sails once again! Why? Because we lose our power to go on, when our hope is gone...and faith restores hope!
