HI DOLL!
Sorry I haven't written in a while, but life, as you know, is filled with heavy strangeness sometimes.Take this morning, for instance.I was just laying down for a short nap until time for church...and Yon son was staying up until that time to play games on the computer, at which time he would wake me,and soon thereafter, he would no doubt be crashing, because he had to work tonight, and just as I began to drift off, the power went out! Now, most people would say, so what, I'm just going to be sleeping anyway, and go to sleep, but with my need for air,and my fans on me, and my lamp to read by..well, let's just say, I am not most people. So, I am sitting up, fanning myself, taking off the air tubeing, gasping for air,and yon son is quick to get up, find the flashlight...Oh, big problem...Not! Since he installed our emergency center! Down stairs he goes to flip the circuit breaker.Meanwhile he says calming, reassuring things to me, explaining why and what he is doing, and I am thinking, WHO does he think taught him these things? He comes back up a while later, and nothing has changed. Now he's getting fussed. He tries to call upstairs, to see if their power is out, and slams the phone down, saying it is out too.Well.of course it is! I remind him, that is why we keep another phone, which does not depend on electricity to function, for just these cases, and he has to switch phones...which he does, and yes, their power is out too. He calls the grocery store across the street, and they too, have lost power. Establishing beyond doubt that it is not the building, but an actual area thing, and finally, he calls the power company, and is surprised to be put on an automated list, and hung up on. So, there we sit, me on my bed, gasping and wheezing and fanning, and he, just fussed.By then, I was so sleepy, I was sitting there dozing off, and he was wondering what to do, and then, blessedly, the power comes back on. Now, he could have turned on the am/fm radio which is built into the emergency center, which is battery operated,( and we have almost every small battery imaginable in that self-same center) but no, all he really wanted to do was to play his computer games.Yet, after a few moments getting used to the unnatural silence in the house, we both resorted to our books, and spent several quiet minutes absorbed in same. Then, power comes on, I get my air back and fall asleep, and he goes on playing his games, and life goes on.It seemed like just an instant later he was calling me, to get up for church, but actually, it was about an hour and a half. What a wonderful service we had. What great preaching! God bless the Internet giving me and others like me, the ability to go to church on Sunday and Bible study during the week, and the up coming Campmeeting! Do you think you might be able to make it here for Easter Campmeeting? Oh, It would be so wonderful if you could! It promises to be such a rewarding and uplifting time for us all. No, it does not preclude our being up and giggling far into the night as usual! Some things never change! I am so looking forward to hearing your lovely soprano voice warbling as you work on whatever it is you are into now. I am just hoping that it isn't scrapbooking. Not that I have anything against scrapbooking, mind you, but you know that when you come for a visit, you bring half the household with you,and from what I have seen, scrapbooking is more of a vocation than a hobby! That would load speedbump down with more than just your purse, medicine bag,and an overnight clothes bag, along with yourself. Nothing against Speedbump, but I think your chair has quite enough to drag around as it is! Any more would, could get caught in the wheels! And, at this stage, you don't need any extra impediments to slow you down. Speaking of which, did you get that new battery installed yet? Or...am I wrong? Was it the charger that was giving you fits? Oh,wait! It was the cold that was leeching power from you battery, wasn't it? So, if the weather is nice, there should be no problem, right? So, Okay, since Resurrection day is in April...unless we have another freak storm, there should be no difficulty in you getting here. Oh goodie! How about if we plan to have another Mad Tea Party, and time it for that week-end? We always have such fun with our mad tea parties. Which would you rather be this year, the Red Queen? Or Alice? Ronda has opted for the part of the March Hare (typecasting to be sure) and Yon son says he will be, probably the White Rabbit...or the Mad Hatter. Little wifey-poo isn't into dressing up for these things, but once she sees how much fun Yon son has as whatever he chooses, that may change. I haven't heard from Sherry for a while, so this party may go without the Cheshire cat...what a pity. She is always so hilariously funny at these gatherings. In fact, at any gathering. However, once again, like Alice, Sherry has dropped down her own hole into whatever wonderland she visits from time to time, and she won't pop out of it until she sees fit.Meanwhile, we press on, praying for her,and hoping she is doing well. Anyway, you think about it, Mogwi, and whatever character you choose to be will be just fine with me. I don't mind being Alice, or the Red Queen, but I would like a little warning, so I can come up with a costume, and practice my " Off with their heads!" if it's the Queen, and conversely and contrariwise, my singing, if it's Alice.
And, Oh! Did I tell you? A friend of a friend of a family member was directed to my site, and there are others out there who call their blog site, thoughts at three a.m.?
But, You, my dear Mogwi, know the difference, do you not? Yes, of course you do! Mine is the only one written by FEATHERHEAD!
Love Ya! Keep your powder dry!
