I have been otherwise occupied on Thursday night lately, so tonight was the first chance I had to take in this rather hyped-up "comedy". Not having been in on the beginning of the series, I am not real sure of the background, nor any of the four men involved in the program, but the sets were nice, the plot, up to a point, was believable. However, I consider the title of the offering very UN- if you get my drift. The writers were reaching to come up with such a title. Four flakes would be more like it.Also, I didn't check the credits, but I would be willing to bet this was written by men.Men who haven't a clue just how lonely older women would handle or approach finding escorts for an evening. We will forget for the moment that this is supposed to be funny, and focus in instead on the notion that a group of widows wouldn't want all their friends to have the slightest idea that these young men were hired to spend their time with them. That is too demeaning.Men would do it, women normally would not. They would prefer their friends to be impressed over the fact that this nice looking young gentleman would, of their own free will, desire to be in their company.Being the age they are purported to be, these women would not make the first advances. That would completely out of character with that generation. There would be no carrot dangling in front of the donkey, no reminder of how much money was on the line. It would come under the heading of:" If you don't know, I'm certainly not going to tell you." It's not flattering to a lady of that era, or, if the truth be told, any era, to spell it out in so many words, or to spoil the illusion...the mood if you will, that I am paying you this, for this! After all, she wouldn't want mechanical performance, she wants romance! She would pay her money, and wait. Wait for flirting, flattering and if he was so inclined, (hope, hope) to be swept off her feet! In my estimation, this program shows promise that has not yet bloomed. Of course, if everyone did what they should do, there would be no story, however, the actors, the writers and men in general need to grow up enough to know that the type of individual who takes money for sexual favors are prostitutes, not w***es.A pro at least has the excuse of doing it for money.A w***e does it simply because they can't or don't know how to say NO! Not to be confused with S***s, who do it, indiscriminately, because they like it, and sadly, think that is what having a good time is all about, basically having never in their lives been shown an actual good time.
I don't plan to watch this program again, until I see a clip of an upcoming show that gives me the impression that the writers have brought up the tone of the language, to something suave, smart, and witty, and less reminiscent of a gorilla with a Stradivarius.
