The first paragraph is a spoken intro by Bill Gaither;

Bill: You see, there's a line that's been drawn, down through the ages, and on that line, there stands an ol' rugged cross, and on that cross, there's a battle that's raging, for the gain of mans soul, or it's loss.On one side there marches all the forces of evil-all the demons, and all the devils of hell. Aw, but friend,

Guy: The earth shakes, with the force of the conflict, and the sun refuses to shine. For there hangs God's son in the balance, and then, through the darkness he cries!
