WARNING! IF THIS STORY DOESN'T GROSS YOU OUT,NOTHING WILL!
Just yesterday, Friday the 13th,January 2006, I heard in the news that a Chicago " Mother" and I use the term loosely, took $10,000.00, from the man who raped her child, not to report it to the authorities. I felt like someone had kicked me in the stomach.I felt such pain, I was physically ill.In fact, the lead left me so effected,as to destroy my ability to follow the details of the rest of the story. I don't know the age or sex of the child, or the mother's name, or for that matter, the perpetrator's name, but I did recover long enough to hear that the man had given the ten thousand dollars, because he "felt bad" about what he had done. Well! I should hope so! This story is so horrible on so many levels, I hardly know where to begin. So, let us just accept for the moment that everything this man did was wrong, and pick it up from there. Let us focus instead, upon what the Mother did. Or, rather, did not do. She did not give her child her protection, comfort and support after the child had been attacked. How do I know? Well, after all, if she took money to cover it up, the woman certainly did not seek medical treatment for that child once it was known to have been molested, because if she had, the doctors would have reported the incident immediately to the police, and there would have been no chance, no question as to whether or not to cover it up! Moving right along, this is one poor example of a mother! She betrayed her own flesh and blood, for money! There is no excuse for that. She sold her own child's innocence for the worst kind of filthy lucre, and where I come from, that's called prostitution. I can't even imagine how that child must feel, knowing that "Mommy" got bought off, instead of standing up for them. That kid's head is going to be screwed up the rest of their natural life for this! Alright. I have tried to empathize with this woman, thinking there must have been a reason, or a need, for her to do such a dreadful thing, but to no avail.Personally, I wouldn't care if I was living in a cardboard box down by the river, and starving to death, no amount of money on the face of the earth would be enough to keep me from standing up for my child in their time of need! Nobody has enough money, power or influence to shut me up were I to find out that someone had abused my child! The idea that this woman came face to face with her child's attacker, and did nothing to alert the authorities is absolutely revolting.I would have been insulted and indignant at the offer, and screaming bloody murder to the cops a moment later. But this woman did nothing. Nothing! Even a mangy dog will fly to the defense of her puppies, so what does that make this female? And, I am sorry, but all through this post I have been calling her a woman, but this is no woman.A woman, in my estimation, is a fine, noble female who stands up for herself and those that she loves. She isn't even good enough to be compared to a bitch dog, as previously mentioned. To do so, is an insult to dogs! This creature is lower than the lowest filthy cur that ever walked the earth, and she should be punished just as harshly as the man who did the dirty deed. He should be locked up so far down in prison they would have to pump sunlight to him, according to the law. I don't know what, if anything this mother can be charged with, but she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, her children taken away from her, and never allowed to be in their presence again, have no contact with them, ever, and never allowed to have another child. If you think I am angry, you're right. It always gets my ire up to know that there are females in this world who have been given the gift of a child, and rather than appreciate the fact that they have been entrusted with a precious little helpless soul to provide for, they not only stumble, as all of us will, but when they do, they just lay there in the dust and allow the calamity to overtake not only them, but the child as well, and couldn't care less that there are others who would give anything to be in their position. I'm a mother. I have stumbled. Rather badly, as I recall. But I picked myself up, cleaned myself off,and went on to learn from my mistakes. Understand me now, everyone has problems. No one is perfect, or does everything right. All of us have weak moments when we are tempted beyond our ability to resist. However, human beings are endowed with the ability to assess the situation, think things through to their logical conclusion, and change their mind about a course of action, when the subject is important enough to warrant such. Now, given those parameters, wouldn't you think that having carried a child for nine months, given birth to it, provided it with food, clothing, shelter and care for umpty-ump years, this female might have considered her child important? More important than Ten Thousand Dollars?
