CLOUDY AND GREY, LAST CHANCE, AND ANTICIPATION!
1.Today was a treasure for those of us who are light sensitive. When I awoke, it was still dark, and it never did get much lighter.Even after the morning was well begun, and breakfast was over and the sunlight should have been burning my eyes, I chanced to glance out my dinning room windows, and fog had crept in on tiny cat feet, and I couldn't help but smile.
2.As I watched out my kitchen window, watching for Yon son's arrival, I noticed that the annoying volunteer tree that has blocked my view of the area between here and the other yards, the Laundromat parking lot, and the alley and the store is finally dropping it's leaves, little by little. I also noticed that It cannot be a black walnut tree, as I first supposed, because it has turned a violent shade of red, and on closer inspection, it must be a maple tree. Now, at last I can see Yon son's approach from a half-block away...and this morning, when he came in, he had a wonderful little nosegay of roses for me. Ah! The last of the summer roses!
3.Once again, autumn is abbreviated almost to the point of non-existence.Today roses, freshly picked from the bush, tomorrow, rain turning to snow and freezing temperatures. But I am not complaining, because I love it all.I love to watch the leaves fall, I love to watch it rain, and I am so looking forward to the first snowfall! I hope it is one of those wet, clumpy kind, with the big fat wet flakes that stick to everything, draping the trees in frosting, and leaving the outside world so beautiful...even the house and yard next door will be pretty!
