SWIRLING WEATHER, ROARING THROUGH THE TREES, AND CALM BEFORE...!
1.I sit and watch and listen to the weather forecasters as they put the maps in motion, and tell us what is going on in the rest of the country, not to mention the rest of the world, and I cannot help but marvel at the snow on one side, the tornadoes on another, and down below it's hot, and up above it's cold, and here we sit in the middle, with 5o degrees, a little bit of mist, but no rain, no snow, no high winds. It's been this way for months, and I can't help but feel...protected.
2.All this time, the bad weather has been coming at us, then at the last moment, it seems, the bad stuff goes around us.But, I am not dumb enough to think that our luck will hold out.Soon, the wind will pick up, and roar through the trees, and the snow or rain...or both will cut loose, and we will have a big winter storm. It is bound to happen. Yet I cannot feel badly about it. In fact, I am looking forward to that sound of a mighty rushing wind, roaring through the trees, and seeing that snow fly!
3.Right now. This moment. All is still, and calm, and I love it when all of nature seems poised to accept that first winter storm. The weatherman has promised us some precipitation in the next 24 to 48 hours, and I am thinking, it's time to pull a round steak or a roast out of the freezer, and start it in the crock pot, and make a stew or soup. Collect my cards and wrapping paper, and start addressing envelopes, so I can sit and watch the children playing at snowball fights, play Christmas music and make out Holiday greeting cards. And then it hits me ! Ack! I have less than one month to finish that rug I am hooking as a christmas present! Aha! Now, it feels like the Christmas season!
