Hello my dears and darlings,I am back and I can't tell you how much I missed you! Where have I been? I have been stuck at home without the internet for two whole days! Well, actually, one whole day, since the internet went down, but we had big doings on wed.and I wasn't able to use the internet. We hosted an anniversary party for my son and daughter-in-law.It was a fabulous occasion. We grilled barbequed rib thingy's, and had b-b-q chips, taco chips and salsa, and everyone had the beverage of their choice, and watched a creepy movie. We had some somber news from my "daughter" but it seems to only have made them closer,(praise God) and then we went on to talk and laugh and play video games, and I suppose I could end with the streotypical "a good time was had by all" but that would make the whole thing sound too mundane, would it not? But before the night was over, we toasted the happy couple with iced-tea, and pop, and, I think someone had a beer, but that would be about it.Then, long after everyone's food had settled, we all had ice cream, so it wasn't exactly the kind of blow-out that most would think would be the norm, however, on the other hand, we didn't have to have any designated drivers either. The event lasted much longer than anticipated, and when they did go, there was a lot of lingering at the door, and let's do this again, real soon,so it is safe to say, all went well. I went to my little nest about 4:30 a.m., and had to get up again at 6:45, but who cares? We had a great time, and so did the "kids". After my morning routine was accomplished, I went back to bed.(surprise, surprise!) So it wasn't until evening that I tried to go on line, and guess what? My internet server was down. I WAS UPSET! I did everything one does in such a situation, short of standing on my nose in a corner, and then called tech support.Well! I got a canned message that the internet was having a problem and would be back on line by midnight, their time, and so, I waited, impatiently. It was nerve wracking, because I had already missed one day, I sure didn't want it to be two days! So, I spent my time, alternately watching the lights on the modem, and searching for a bible study guide that's been misplaced, and my frustration grew. The appointed time came and went, and still, the internet light was not on, so I checked connections, played with the modem, tried to reboot the computer, and still, nada! I finally gave up for the night, and went to bed with a good book, and that brings us up today.Up at 6:45, breakfast, moving a freezer. shifting furniture around, and all I wanted to do, was go online! By the time I had an opportunity to do so, I was wiped out,and took a nap. Then I was called for dinner, and by now, there should have been HUGE claw marks in the walls from my inner frustration! So we put in a call to our favorite tech support guy. who promptly came out, and rebooted the right way, which means I will spend several hours getting mr. machine back to the way he was before,we did the thing with the modem, that should have brought back the internet capability, however, nothing! By now, I am mentally ripping whole handfulls of hair out of my head, and snapping at people because my blood sugar is in the basement! But, I immediately apologized, I mean, I'm not normally rude, and everyone knows my problem...which only irritates me further, when we're being "patient" with mother. So, here I go, one more time, calling tech support, and when I finally got a live person on the phone, she was a darling. I loved her. Just a few simple steps, and "I'm baaack! What a wonderful feeling! Oh! and in case I forgot to mention it? I love you all, and I never want to leave here, ever, ever again!
and, no, my name's not dorothy!
