I was writing away merrily, when my best pal Sherry called, and we chatted while I finished up.Ah! Done! So, I went down to the save button, and clicked it,and after a long time, one of those, cannot display this page things came up. Well! I refreshed, the page flickered, and continued to tell me it could not be displayed. I hit the back button, and there was my blog, still unsaved. I felt like grabbing my bible and praying over it, because, it was, unsaved...anyway, I clicked the button again, and once again, that same idiotic message came up. I tried the refresh button again, but it just laughed at me. By this time, the microsoft help window had slid noisily into place, and told me to wait while it did something or other, and while I waited, I watched my modem. The internet light was flickering. My first thought, was oh no, not again. If I have to reboot because they are having trouble on the internet again, I am going to be annoyed in the extreme! Well, then the box opened, and asked me to tell them what the problem was. Like I know? But, I clicked this option and that option, and asked them to fix it, and soon I have little representations of my computer, with a blue-green light, or ball, or something running back and forth between it and the internet...and then I have three boxes. My computer, My connections, and the world were represented there, and the blue-green thing is again, running back and forth between all three, and it says" checking your connections, please wait". Well. What else was I going to do? Then in the midst of all that, I glanced down, and there was the internet light on the modem, glowing a comforting steady green light. Huh! I shut the box down, and I was back at my home page. I clicked on the browser, did the i.d thing, and my opening page came back up, just as pretty as you please, and of course, I ran right back over to typepad, to do a blog on that! Okay, so I have had two instances where I have had a problem with the internet connection. HUH! Big deal. It is still a whole whale of a lot better than the constant...I mean CONSTANT disconnections and reconnections of dial up service. I mean, It happened all the time! I couldn't get through one meduim sized blog without loosing the connection at least 5 or 6 times. And the noise! Hey, give me dsl any day, rather than dial up! If it didn't take me at least an hour and a half with all the waiting for reconnection, I had a real good night!
