WE COULD BRING OUR SOLDIERS HOME,AND NOT STOP "THE SURGE!!"

It's all you hear anymore. Bring our boys home! End the war...Or at least, our involvement in the war in Iraq. Well, I have had a lot of time to ruminate on things that I don't normally spend much time considering, and that's politics. Because, there wouldn't be this dialog/debate going on if it weren't a political issue. No one likes to admit it, but we all know that it shouldn't even be a subject open for debate. America is defending freedom. Period. Case closed. End of discussion. But a lot of folks are getting a lot of political mileage out of Bashing Bushie Baby, and "His War". Bull-Roar! It's not his war, it is the war of every right thinking American! So anyway, I have spent a lot of time in bed, watching television in the hospital, and it's been the same thing, over and over. The war, the field running for 2008, and of course, sports. Ad nauseum.Thank the Lord for Paris Hilton. If it hadn't been for that poor little rich girl, and her two-penny opera, I would have gone stark- staring-out-of-my-mind. But now, she is out of jail, and gone back to doing whatever it is she does, and we are back to being treated to the the crap that the idiot legislators are blithering about, and seeing how all those rich "game-players", the athletes are doing. When all at once, it hit me, right between the eyes. We are a nation rich in top athletes, who are well fed, at the peak of physical condition. They are well toned, young, strong, and healthy, and have been well paid, to do nothing more than continue to exercise and train, so they can go out and be fast and strong on some sort of field of sport! And, there are thousands of them! Why shouldn't they be pressed into the service of their country? The games be hanged! This is serious business! They already know how to fight, they prove that all the time! They are tough, and most of them are spoiling for a bit of fisticuffs most of the time! Why not give them a whack at it? They would not need much training, just show them how to use a gun,and they're ready!

If you think about it, we have had the resources to have a standing army all along, and any ball-club unwilling to offer their services should be booed off the field for being a pack of unAmerican Cowards! And, the possibilities are limitless! Not only Baseball players, but Basketball. Football! Boxers! Wrestlers!Olympic Athletes! We've got the manpower! Why aren't they clamoring to fight where it's really needed? They have been paid enough! Why aren't they standing up now, to earn  all that money?

A LIST OF STUFF; Q & A,JUST FOR FUN!!

I saw this on Nici's blog, which she saw on Moi's blog, so I thought I'd give it a go:

1. What are your favorite lines from a song ?

I'm going back, to where I come from, where the honeysuckle smells so sweet, it dern near makes ya sick... And;

Could we with ink, the ocean fill, and were the skies,

of parchment made- were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man,

a scribe by trade, to write the Love Of God above, would drain the oceans dry -

Nor could the scroll contain the hope, tho stretched from sky to sky!

Oh Love Of God! How rich and pure- How measureless and strong!

2. What is a question that people ask you that gets on your nerves?

Can I have/take a picture of you? No! I'm camera shy!

3.What is the one thing you have in common with all your siblings?

Our love of music. Our house was always full of singing and dancing.

4.What is the greatest amount of pain you've ever been in?

That would be a toss-up between child-birth and back pain, both when I broke my back and DDD back spasms, and surgery.

5.Who was the last person you wrote a letter to on paper?

My step-grand-daughter Katherine.

6. Have you ever fired a gun?

Yes. a 357 Magnum,a glock, and a shotgun. Target practice on a farm. I slayed several pop cans that day!

7.What was your favorite childhood toy?

A stuffed pony on wheels.

8.What sound do you find disturbing?

Crying...by anything. I'm a mother...I respond to crying.

9. Whose diary would you love to read?

Mata Hari.

10.Have you ever had a recurring dream?

Yes,I frequently dream I can fly.

11.Name something that makes you happy.

Unexpectantly hearing someone thanking God just thrills me.

12.If you were in an emergency situation, would you be able to deliver a baby?

Barring complications I would,yes.

13.What is the closest thing to you that is green?

The carpet under my feet. Or my peace lilly.

14.Have you ever had to call 911?

Yes, many times.

15.What is the last Movie you watched?

Oceans 12.

17. Do you fold  your underwear?

Well, well, well, what eager little minds! On that note I do believe this Q&A session has come to a screeching halt, and if you are just eaten up with curiosity, I can only say, doesn't everybody?

LOOKING FOR GOSPEL MUSIC? TRY TO GET THE WORDS RIGHT!

Now I am not trying to be unkind, but sometimes when I go back to check and see what the request was,I get some surprises. Why, just today, one of them was," hail, hail the line of Judah." Obviously another case of a person hearing the song, and liking it, but not fully aware of what was being said. Surely, there is nothing wrong with that, or there wouldn't be so many wanting the Lyrics to Gospel songs, but think a moment. What would the possible connection be, between Gospel songs, and a "line of Judah?" Standing in line for something? I don't think so. Lineage? Maybe, but I can't think of any songs I would want to hear, tracing the lineage of Judah...and even if there is such a song, I don't think anyone would be shouting "Hail,Hail!" to it.I think the Bible does quite enough of "begats" without us having to pen songs about it! No, what I think this person was searching for here, was any songs having to do with the LION of Judah, which as most of us know is one of the names for God,and his son, Jesus Christ. One such song is "The King of who I am",which I published the lyrics for a few months back...but, sorry to say, I don't recall any "Hail, hail" in that song...or any other Lion of Judah song. But that's just me. I don't know all the Gospel songs, particularly if it is new, or really really old.

But now, armed with your new knowledge, it should be easier for you to resume your search, knowing you are probably looking for Hail the Lion of Judah!

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO STEAL A HORSE??

Here I go again.Seeing the picture from both sides of the fence. On the one side, it is unfathomable to me why anyone would sneak into a collage stable, and steal one of the most beloved and popular horses they have. Think of the amount of time, money, and effort the collage put into having a horseback riding program. The sheer space and feed-bill alone would take one aback, not to mention the vet bills, and the everyday upkeep, the training of the horses, and the training the teachers had to go through to be accredited to teach such a class. And considering that, and the popularity of the horse in question, where would you go with it? You couldn't show it off to your friends, or show it on the circuit, too many people know about it. For that matter, you couldn't even ride it, for fear someone would see you, and know you didn't have that roan three days ago, or even a week ago. What would you do, just hide it in your barn until you could sell it? Then, there's the personal attachment each individual connected with the program has to have for those horses. It had to be  devastating for them to go to the stable, and find "Sizzle" gone. And, if you have ever seen a Roan mare out in the sunlight, you know how, when the light hits them just right, they seem to shine like they are on fire! Gorgeous! And, what about the horse herself? I am sure she is feeling very badly to be separated from those who took care of her.Horses are much like cats and dogs, in that they form bonds with people, just like any other animal will.Oh, there are those who say that horses are never quite domesticated, and that they will always have a wild streak in them somewhere, but I don't believe that. When I was young we spent a lot of time at a horse stable, and there was one paint that followed my dad around like a puppy. To the point, that once my mother saw him riding down the hill towards us, astride that wonderful horse, and she caught her breath, admiringly, and said, " He rides like he's a part of the horse, doesn't he ?" I looked and nodded, but unfortunately, Dad heard the chance remark too  and said,"Oh yeah? Which part?" Then it turned into a big joke between them, even though mother staunchly defended her choice of words, as to not be derogatory,Dad would just laugh and say, "Yeah, yeah, I know what you meant!"

Of course, there is always the possibility that whoever took "Sizzle", did so because they were moved to do it, because they saw, or thought they saw that the horse wasn't being properly cared for, or was actually being abused or neglected.

Or, perhaps they did it because they loved the horse, and wanted it,and couldn't resist. I just hope that who ever did this thing is not such a wretched individual that they are going to harm it, but will keep it fed and watered, clean and warm and dry,and knows enough to exercise it regularly every day.

WHY AREN'T WRITERS WRITING GOOD MOVIES ANYMORE?

I don't doubt but what many will take exception to my point of view, but what the hey! Someone else out there must feel the same way! The newest movie now? TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. What in the round world is going on here? I can recall when my son would flop on the floor on his belly as a little tyke and watch this junk, and I tolerated it, because he liked cartoons. Now, it's bad enough they felt they had to do Batman, and robin, and Catwoman, the Hulk, and Spiderman. But something is wrong when you feel you have to outside of your own species to find a hero, and raise up this mess, to the level of a movie! I liked the penguins, and even Spongebob, and Nemo, but now, this is getting ridiculous! So now, they have made this complete, haven't they? Redoing into a movie every cartoon ever made, into a full length feature film? Oh, yeah, I liked "ICE-AGE  both I and II! And I am sure, since I have seen the trailers, over and over, that I am going to love "Happy Feet",but Disney and Pixar are the exception to the rule. They at least have come up with innovative, cute, impressively original ideas!

One hopes that the other screen writers and producers can find other things to write about, that will NOT be just a regurgitation of past works!

THE MESS THIS WORLD IS IN, AND HOW TO FIX IT?

Well, here I am again, wakeful in the middle of the night, and there are nitwits on television yammering on about the war in Iraq, and what Bush did wrong, and how awful it all is,trying to talk the problem to death. Meanwhile they are solving nothing, they are accomplishing nothing. But, of course, they intend to solve nothing, they are just putting themselves out there to be seen and heard, sounding oh so wise. One of them is Joe Biden, whom we all know is going to run for prez. The same Joe Biden who got caught plagiarizing speeches. Oh, yeah, like I'm going to trust him? I wouldn't vote for him for dogcatcher. But that is only for the principle of the thing. It's not like any election is going to make that much difference in the way the world wags. Who gets elected or what party is in power really doesn't change our country that much. They all take the oath of office to protect and defend the constitution. The backbone of our nation is what is really important. And even though America even doesn't have a perfect system of government, it's still the best in the world.

No, what's really needed here, if we want our system to continue and for right to prevail in the middle east, is for our religious/spiritual leaders to start exhorting  their congregations to be seeking the face of God. We need to hit those altars and get down on our knees and be praying for his blessing on our efforts. Give our generals guidance and wisdom. Strengthen our resolve to help this little fledgling democracy to find a way to stand up to those blood-thirsty factions, and convince them to make some peaceful settlements instead of blowing themselves to bits. I know it sounds corny, but it's true. Considering that we have tried every other avenue available in the realm of diplomacy, beyond going in with missionaries and teaching the supposed leaders the skills of compromise, then it's time to pull out the big guns, and use prayer on them. Constant, fervent prayer. Not, one day, as has been declared and done by different ones, here and there. But every day, by every church, no matter what the denomination! Come on America! Let's put our faith and trust in God again. He can heal our nation, and he can bring about peace in Iraq....and all points east!

I think God can do it.

I know God can do it!

He's the only one who can!

THE DONALD VS. ROSIE! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

I have puzzled over this for quite a while now, and I still don't understand. Now, we have all heard and seen this idiotic banter back and forth between these two famous people,so don't get the idea that I am about to add anything new to the mess. But rather than act like I don't know what is going on in the world, since it is on my mind, I just thought I would come out with my thoughts.

First of all, I see nothing wrong with Mr.Trump giving that girl a second chance. It was his call to make, and he made it. Okay? On the other hand, we have Rosie, sitting there on the View, where it is my understanding that these  famous people make commentary on what is going on in the world. I have never watched the show, so I don't know if this is the sort of thing that goes on there all the time, but this time,Rosie hit a nerve, apparently.

What I can't figure out, is why. Why did Rosie feel it necessary to say such things? Is that her role? What is her business in this whole thing? How does what Donald Trump does effect her? Does she have an Axe to grind with him in general? Is it any skin off her nose if this girl gets to go on and keep her title, and if so, how? I just can't figure this out. Didn't she know she was stirring up a man who would take exception to her characterization of him, and respond in kind? Perhaps she just got so caught up in the notion of making her opinions known that she forgot herself,or, didn't care that she might be stirring up a hornet's nest. Why would she do that, when she has so many issues that people can pick on if they care to? There is an old saying, "People who live in glass houses..." Well, she wound up her sling shot and let it fly, and got double back at her.

Now, with most folks, that would have been the end of it. They are both public figures, and carrying on with this is just silly. Yet, they both are going at each other tooth and nail, and I don't know, maybe I am dense when it comes to these sorts of on-going arguments, but I just can't figure out why they keep it up. Are they both at a point in their lives right now that they just need a place to vent their spleen? What can they think they are gaining in this name-calling tug of war?

Don't they have advisor's to tell them how bad this is for their images? Does this all puzzle you, or can you shed some light as to what you think is going on?
