2007 MOVIES RECOMMENDED FOR CHRISTIANS!

Where it is not easy to find, I think I have hit on three movies that fit this catagory.

"The Nativity".Brand new, now out on DVD, but with no famous names involved, except Omar Sharif, which I think is all to the good. I follows the scriptural depiction exactly, and beautifully.

"One night with the King" The story of Esther, from the old testament. Rich in background and brings the story to life.

"Happy Feet". Okay, it's not exactly a christian story, but it is wonderful, and you won't be offended by it.

"HAPPY FEET": A MOVIE REVIEW!

"Happy Feet" a fully animated full length cartoon movie, starring the Voices of Robin Williams, Nicole Kidman, and a number of other people I never heard of before, but amongst that group, it also features the Late Steve Irwin. It is beautiful, and full of great music from folks such as Stevie Wonder with such dancing music as " I wish those days would come back again". There is a lot of singing and dancing, but it is not a musical, really, not when it's penguins who do all the singing and dancing!

This video is perfect for a family home evening,a delightful feel good movie, now out on DVD... I can't imagine why it's rated PG 13! You'll love it, your kids will love it,and you won't mind at all seeing it the second time!

THE PINK PANTHER: A MOVIE REVIEW!!

The newest Pink Panther movie, with Steve Martin, Beyonce Knowles, Kevin Kline, and Jean Reno is an absolutely delightful romp from France to America and back to France again! Yon son and I threw our heads back and laughed unreservedly throughout this stunning collection of misadventures, slap-stick, high-jinks,and sight gags. Cunningly woven, even without Peter Sellers, the old boy would have been proud of the twists and turns this movie had to offer. To the critics who Pooh-pooed this film because it wasn't up to Sellers genius, all I can say is, they must have watched a different movie that the one we got! Because the movie we watched not only had an excellent plot, but it was so tightly edited that we could figure out who and why, and who had the diamond. It was fresh and clean, so children can see this film and not be told to leave the room once, and genuine romance, and a touch of pathos.

Now out on DVD, it runs 93 minutes, so it doesn't tax you overlong, and if you love it as much as I do, you can watch it twice of an evening, and still do the special features!

For some strange reason, it is Rated PG,perhaps for mild violence, and a hint of sexual content, maybe? But if you're like I am, you are ready for your Pink Panther musical fix!!

FIFTY FIRST DATES: THE MOVIE

I  can't even call this a movie review, because it's going to be far more personal than that. This is one of those movies that leave  you feeling as though you have just come back from someplace else when it is over. It carries you away with it, to the time you fell in love...not wanting to. The emotion just snatched  you up,and leaves you thinking about that love, the euphoria that you felt, and the joy of the moment, and a feeling of wistfulness, poignancy that you will probably never feel that way again. I found myself sitting there as the ending credits rolled, staring off into the distance, thinking about love. My very first real love, and that first kiss, and how amazing that first kiss is, and how most people are still searching for the first kiss feeling all over again, the rest of their lives. That's probably what makes some so flighty, come to think of it, that they expect every kiss to be like that first kiss, and when it isn't they feel as though the love has gone, and they go looking for it again.

Anyway, this was a wonderful movie, with Drew Barrymore, Adam Sandler and a marvelous cast, set in the lushness of Hawaii, with some very different twists!

With some crude humor this film is not for children.

"TAKE THE LEAD" A MOVIE REVIEW!

Antonio Banderas stars as Pierre Dulaine,a ballroom dance instructor hired by the principal of an inner city high school, to supervise detention, for the schools most troubled teens. Considering the theme of this movie, it is obviously not for young impressionable kids, because there is some terrible language in it, but if you can overlook that, it turns out be a beautiful film. Especially the part where Antonio...I mean, Pierre asks one of his best students from his dance studio to come and do a demonstration Tango with him for his detention kids! Wow! I watched that scene about twelve times in a row! They not only learn to dance, but they learn respect and some manners as well!

A very satifying film, now out on DVD,rated PG 13.

WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE GIRL LEAVING IN "IT'S ALL COMING BACK TO ME NOW?"

What is the point of the girl leaving in "It's all coming back to me now?" This was the request I got when I followed a referrer back, who had hit on my site, just because Celine Dion is posted as one of my favorite singers, and the album with that song was posted, because that is one of my favorite songs. However, for some strange incomprehensible reason, I had never chosen to blog on this particular subject, because, let's face it, This was one of Celine's first videos,(IF not the very first) and I assumed that no-one would be interested in what I had to say about an oldie but a goodie. I loved her from the very first hearing of this video, not only for her honey-ied  vocal abilities, but also for the talent it took to put this " minute" movie together, but the use of symbolism, and the flashbacks, the lightening and thunder, and the wind blowing the gauzy drapes...made it all so romantic.

So, the point of the girl leaving is, of course, there had to have been a break-up to begin with in order for it to be..." all coming back to her now!"

So, view it with that in mind, and with any luck at all, that should clear up your confusion for you!

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA! A MOVIE REVIEW!

A very witty movie starring Meryl Streep as the totally demanding, rich, high profile boss, and Anne Hathaway as her newbie assistant who knows nothing about the industry! Once again, Anne starts out as a naturally lovely girl, but needs, and finally gets, the polish to make her shine. Not only is this a funny movie, but it also has a wealth of information about the fashion industry, and the ins and outs of what really goes on in a large popular fashion magazine. Filled to the brim with a cornucopia of colors and styles of dresses, boots, shoes, handbags, and wraps! A total feast for the eyes for those who love dazzling beautiful clothes! In addition, we get a whirlwind trip to Paris, and a very satisfying ending!

Now out on DVD, rated PG 13,for some sensuality.(Personally, I don't think the children would even notice.)

And,if you're thinking to show it to your overbearing boss, so they will know what people think of them, don't even bother. She'll love it, talk about it with you with glee, and say what a "B" Miranda was, but she won't get it!

WAR OF THE WORLDS! A MOVIE REVIEW!

Starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning, this remake of the old movie is completely different, and a complete nail biter from eight minutes into the show.Very low on background, and an instant attention grabber, get your snacks before you sit down and turn it on, because you won't want to leave once it gets started.

Not for young children. Now out on DVD, rated PG13,frightening sequences of sci-fi violence and disturbing images, it is also  loud......I had no idea the Dakota was such a good screamer!

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE III! A MOVIE REVIEW

Greatly looked forward to, and hotly anticipated, when I finally got a copy of" MI III", I was not let down at all! In fact, I have to say this is the best of them all, and that is going some! First off, they somewhat reverted to the t.v. format, with a tease, and then the lit fuse, and the MI theme music, and then they pulled off several missions flawlessly...with the theme music being played throughout! Tom Cruise was absolutely wonderful as always, making it clear that Ethan Hunt is not to be underestimated! You can't turn you back on this fella because he will find a way to get out of whatever mess you've put him into, some way! Fast paced, and edge of the chair action, but not for children!

Now out on DVD, You'll want to watch it twice, but try to keep from choking on your popcorn!
